This site uses a 'session cookie' in order to make sure your use of the website isn't mixed up with anyone else's. It is used if you log in. The cookie is simply a short, unique string of characters stored on your computer. A matching copy is kept temporarily on the server whilst you are using the site, for comparison with the copy stored on your computer. (The server copy is deleted about half an hour after you stop using the site.) The cookie contains no personal information about you whatsoever, doesn't identify you in any way, and is necessary for the site's operation.
Data stored in log files
The web server records webite use, for legitimate statistical and maintenance purposes. Log records contain IP addresses, and for registered users who are logged in, their username. The data is only stored for a minimal time, as log files are regularly statistically summarised, and are then deleted.
This website is implemented using the OneGoose version of Webskein, from Melchior Online Limited. Webskein includes a toolkit which places the contents of the website entirely under the control of the person/organisation to which it is supplied.
